PASTORAL CARE & VISITATION:

We currently have approximately 15 people who regularly visit members and friends who are homebound, taking communion and community to them. At this time, the group is volunteer-led. If you would like to participate in these visits or know someone who needs to be visited, please contact Pastor Tobi.

We know that we do not always realize who needs additional prayers, visits, and attention. If you know someone who is in need, please contact us. We want to be available to those who need us.

PRAYER TEAM:

Our prayer team is comprised of several members of the women's circles. If you would like to be added to individual or community prayers, click here.

NEW MEMBER CLASSES:

New member classes are offered each year during Lent on Wednesdays at 6:00p.m. We formally welcome our new members at our Easter Eve worship, the Saturday night before Easter, at 5:30p.m. If you are interested or want to know more, please contact Karrie Lickliter, Director of Discipleship.

BAPTISMS:

We refer to baptism as 'an outward expression of an inward reality.' We baptize people of all ages and in a variety of circumstances. A couple of things to note as you consider baptism for you or your child:

• If you have already been baptized, we do not 're-baptize.' Baptism is a gift from God, and we do not believe that God has gotten it wrong. Rather, we encourage an affirmation of one's baptism--recommitting oneself to the promises you make and remember that God always keeps the promises God makes.

• Baptism isn't just an entrance into God's life--it marks an entrance into this community. When we baptize, we fully expect those whom we have welcomed to become part of our congregational life. The promises we make (for ourselves or for our children) emphasize this participation: living among God's people, sharing in the supper, serving others, learning and studying the Word together, striving for justice and peace. We take these promises seriously and hope you do, too.

WORSHIP AND WORSHIP SPACE:

MUSIC MINISTRIES
We love music at OSLC, and we love to provide a variety of styles, as we are able. If you would like to participate in one of the following opportunities, please contact Sam Eschliman, Director of Worship, Music, and Arts.

• Sanctuary Choir

• Set Free Vocal Ensemble

• Support musician (drums, guitar, piano, etc.)

• Bell Choir

• Soloist or special music

ALTAR GUILD
The altar guild are the people who set up the worship space at each service. This includes setting up communion, baptisms, and other special elements. Each team serves for one month. If you would like to know more or to serve in this way, contact Jen Yoder.

HOSPITALITY TEAMS
The hospitality servants welcome members into worship and create an hospitable experience. Teams include acolytes (those who light the candles), greeters, ushers, communion assistants, and powerpoint operators. These jobs are not difficult, but they do require commitment.
