Prison Ministries

FEAST--A ministry of OSLC in which we welcome those in the Lancaster County Correctional Center at worship, at the Lord's Table, at our table, and in service to the community.
Bridges to Hope--Supported by OSLC and the Nebraska Synod. A ministry for equipping newly released individuals with household and personal items necessary to become established in the community.
Followers of Christ--Supported by OSLC and the Nebraska Synod. A worshiping community within the walls of the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln, NE.

Kimangaro Parish - Tanzania

Companion Parish Team--Several members of OSLC have participated in Synodical Vision Trips to Tanzania. In response to one trip, OSLC chose to adopt a sister parish. In the past we have welcomed members of the Kimangaro Parish in the Northern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, and they have shown great hospitality to our visitors. Together, we grow in mission and ministry to our own communities and to one another. We pray for each other and send God's greetings and blessings to one another. OSLC has the honor to send financial support to help the ministries of the congregation and the diocese--including a church-sponsored school. The members of Kimangaro Parish honor us by sending handmade gifts and showing us unimaginable joy and faith.

Randolph Elementary And Holmes Elementary Schools

Volunteers--Over a dozen OSLC members serve as volunteers for students and faculty at Randolph Elementary School. We've had a long relationship with this local area school. We are just beginning to build relationships with Holmes Elementary School, as well.
Backpack Program--Beginning January, 2014, OSLC has financially supported and packed food backpacks for 55 students at Randolph Elementary School. A gift of $200 sponsors one child for a full school year! You can learn more about this FoodBank program here.
Emergency Location--In the event of a school evacuation at Randolph Elementary School, OSLC serves as the emergency location.

Good Samaritan Fund

Good Samaritan Fund Report - Through the generous gifts of OSLC members in 2014, over 60 families were given assistance with basic needs. The largest number of requests were for utility bills, followed by rental assistance. During the time of high gas prices, there were numerous requests for help just to get to doctor appointments, school and work. Thank you for bringing hope and compassion to the many who are struggling to meet monthly expenses.
