Stewards of Finance

How do you give? There are many ways to offer your gift of gratitude to the work of God. Electronic giving is increasing as families strive to fulfill their intentions. Electronic giving can be done as an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) through your bank, or it can be set up as an automatic withdrawal through Simply Giving. Many people choose to write a check or give cash each week or each month--making the gift a tangible form of worship. Either way, make your gift intentional.

Why give? There was a time when families gave to the church because it was expected. People saw the ministries of the Church as their responsibility. Today, younger generations seek to give to ministries that are meaningful and worthy of the gift. We at OSLC continue to strive to make your gift count--through frugal spending, as well as generous ministries within and beyond the Church.

How much to give? A 'tithe' is considered 10% of the family income. However, most Christian families give less than 2% to congregational ministries. Consider your own relationship to your 'stuff.' As long as we fear losing what we have, we probably have too much.

Stewards of Property

Regular Clean-up--Our next OSLC Clean-Up date is Saturday, April 13, 2019. We want to spruce up the grounds and building for Easter! Feel free to bring a rake, leaf bags, shovels, or other outdoor maintenance tools.

Adopt-A-Project--Our property maintenance team has developed a book in which various projects can be sponsored by anyone interested. You can help fund a project, help complete a project, or both! While most of the immediate needs have been addressed on the main floor, additional projects will be included to address needs in the basement soon.

Community Garden Ideas--We are actively working with Community CROPS to enhance and develop our garden with the hopes that it will serve our neighborhood, as well as our congregation. In addition, we hope to be a site for additional classes for Community CROPS in the future. If you would like to be a part of the garden team, please contact: Lindsey Engel
