WHat to expect
When you arrive at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, we invite you to enjoy conversation and treats before worship begins. Our worship service follows a familiar pattern found in many Lutheran and other mainline churches, but we enjoy offering fresh words and music, depending on the season and focus. Music is led by a variety of instrumentation on any given Sunday, including organ, piano, guitar, melodica, and more. We celebrate our choir, as well as a bell choir and a praise band who all rotate leadership weekly. Dress is comfortable to dressy, and our atmosphere is pretty informal.
Communion:
We practice an open communion which means we welcome to the table any and all, regardless of baptism, background, denomination, or faith. We do rotate between communing utilizing individual cups for wine/juice and intinction (which is a fancy word for dipping the wafer into a cup of wine/juice). We always offer an allergen-free option. We offer blessings over those who prefer that to taking communion. Our goal is simply to create an opportunity for you to experience God’s love, grace, and acceptance in worship.
Offering:
We do take an offering every Sunday morning. You can give a check or cash. You can also use a QR code provided to give online. Regular givers often choose to use Electronic Bank Transfer or Simply Giving to avoid gaps in attendance.
Helping with Hospitality:
Each Sunday, the pastor sends around a clipboard with a sign-up sheet for the following weeks’ opportunities to assist in worship. If you anticipate attending a service, you are welcome to help in one of the listed roles. If you have questions, please ask the Pastor or someone who is filling a role you are interested in.
